| John, The petitions advocate keeping the post offices open and resist closure on the grounds that some people will be more than a mile from their nearest post office, on grounds of access for the elderly and less-able contrary to legislation and Govt policy, that many local businesses depend on them and that it will place unacceptable pressures on the already over-stretched PO in URRd. The petition provides an opportunity to state your address to reinforce the strength of feeling from the immediate local community so the more people in the immediate vicinity of the threatended PO, including businesses, who sign the better. |
