Your observation about the area for closure was noted by me and I also would like to know why it has to be in my area. Quite seriously I have watched Thamesfield ward just be abandoned by MP and council. No one cares about us, the streets are filthy and broken; louts roam around at night with impunity - and all in the name of leisure. We residents are lesser citizens than those of east putney. As a result I believe Thamesfield is considered a soft target - hit us and no one will defend us. Our councillors make noises but they are pro council first and Thamesfield ward comes way down the list of loyalties. We are therefore turned into the scapegoat for Wandsworth council, to be pegged out to protect the other wards. This is happening possibly because of the very very high proportion of rental properties that lend no sense of loyalty to the ward, with their constantly changing population. We need protection! not being hung out to dry. Why is this obvious observation not picked up by the Thamesfield councillors? I have said before I do not feel represented impartially and I wish we could have representative councillors to replace the illustrious Coun. Lister etc. Fight for us, do! Every parcel will have to be trudged a 20 minute walk up the road with an endless queue. Leaving us only with the one post office is unjust; further, if they ever develop Putney hospital surely they would need a post office facility very nearby. That if they ever do because the bus service is non existent. |
