| I note there has been no statement that the council is even prepared to look at the Essex scheme, or anything similar to it. The chances of a protest changing the Royal mail's mind are very low. Every MP and every councillor right across the country is trying to stop the latest closures but I will be surprised if the RM is deflected. They have their orders from the Treasury. Always nice to be proved wrong though. We have lost several local offices in Putney in the 20 years I have been living here and the main post office in URR has been squalid, overcrowded, slow and inefficient for years now - and I see no sign of change there either. |
