| I met Mr Suresh and his wife on Saturday and spoke to a number of their customers. I am even more convinced now that the decision to close this (and the PO in Lower Richmond Road) is wrong and should be overturned. I have also learned that PO managers made the decision about closure in December, which begs the question: why wait to begin the consultation 2-3 months later? I think the post office in Putney Bridge Rd was identified because PO managers knew that Mr Suresh was planning to retire and thought that might make his an easier branch to close. With local support I delivered letters and posters to over 4,000 properties at the weekend: its absolutely critical that as many people as possible know about the closure threat and respond in large numbers to the consultation.
