For Roland Gilmore can I give you a Mahatma Ghandi quote as used by Aung San Suu Kyi in her recent speech "Between cowardice and violence choose violence". Maybe some looters felt they were not being listened to. Well, the high upsd are listening to them now! Thank you Sian Evans for the bit from the Times. I think poor Govindia is fast getting to the point where he is going to be admitting that he put his foot in it, no he will not, he will go on saying he would like to evist but the courts refuse to cooperate. To Bernard Doring, as you bought a flat then you are a council tenant albeit a leaseholder. The house I own is an ex-council house and if any of my family riot I cannot be evicted. Is that fair? I am not soft on the sentacing even if I am against the proposed evictions. It seems that magistrates and judges are having their own riot! If a man can get 4 years for using the latest technology to fail to start a riot what will be the sentance if it is found that the riots were preplanned by gangmasters using blackberrys as some people believe. I find it very difficult to believe that the riot just started. Even if there was a genuine undercurrent of discontent someone had to touch the taper. |
