"A letter from Wandsworth Council, signed by deputy housing manager Tom Crawley, to Ms de la Calva, a former professional dancer who has lived in Britain since 1986, says Daniel’s alleged behaviour may mean the family have breached their tenancy conditions under the Housing Act 1985. The conditions state that no one living at the property should ‘do anything which causes or is likely to cause a nuisance’ or commit ‘an arrestable offence’. It also points out that the family is £1,806.09 in arrears with their rent. Ms de la Calva, who was herself caught up in the poll tax riots, claims Daniel is a ‘quiet, shy boy’ who has never been in trouble. She says he is a keen basketball player and attends church every Sunday and volunteers for the youth charity Regenerate, which aims to keep children off the streets. ‘Daniel was in Clapham to help a girl who was living there. She is from our church and works there in a charity shop. ‘She told Daniel she was caught in the violence and both he and his girlfriend [J-Niel Starkel] went down there to help her and get her away. ‘Daniel got to Curry’s when it had already been looted. He went into the shop, heard noises downstairs. It was empty. ‘Somebody could have been hurt down there – he didn’t know. He saw two men with balaclavas and as they ran out the police stopped him. He did nothing". So her darling God fearing little church goer ran into Currys which was being looted to see if he could help anybody to escape? Yeah right... I notice this woman also owes almost £2k in rent arrears and was herself "caught up in the poll tax riots". Another member of this family in the wrong place at the wrong time? Yeah right... |
