The sinusoidal jobs are more like the ones in Gwendolen or Woodborough though without the flat central area - just a gentle rise then fall.  I am just not sure if there any of this specific type in the area I could point to.

Is the problem in Dover House more the speed and volume of traffic than the type of hump?  I think they are all 'cushions' aren't they, meaning the square raised area not covering the whole road width so buses etc are not inconvenienced?

I would be interested to hear more from someone in Oxford Rd where the humps are the older tank trap type.  Do they cause vibrations in the houses near them too?  I avoid that road altogether (unless on my bike) because they are quite fierce things.

Re your last paragraph I fully agree!  In an ideal world there would be no need for humps at all.  Expensive to put in, expensive to remove.  All I am trying to say is that the newer ones are less damaging than the old ones - and maybe will be less effective as a result, who knows.  It is such a shame the council has not tried to explain their proposals in fuller detail.
