| The traffic in LRR is usually nose to tail in the mornings, agreed, but not all day, and that's when people tend to speed, as soon as they see a clear stretch. As to junctions, the Highway Code says this: "At a junction: When crossing the road, look out for traffic turning into the road, especially from behind you. If you have started crossing and traffic wants to turn into the road, you have priority and they should give way (see Rule 170)." So there are two things here: people should look, certainly, and it's simply foolish not to - but vehicles must give way, provided the pedestrian has started to cross. |
