| Wait a minute, no one has made any sweeping statements and no one has said 'Car Driver, too fast.' Both Martin and Anoh commented generally that traffic in the LRR and elsewhere in Putney is too fast. Road humps may or may not be the answer (I'm neutral on that) but what is surely indisputable both from a safety viewpoint and for environmental reasons, is that people need to drive more slowly - and less, too. How much car use is really necessary? So many short journeys could easily be replaced by walking or cycling, and it really is time we got away form our reliance on cars. But that's getting away from the point of this horrible incident, about which there doesn't seem to be any mention either in the news section of this site or in the local Guardian. Does anyone know who the lady was who was killed? Was she living locally? |
