| Hi Martin, I know you've long been a big supporter of a 20mph limit on residential roads and as stated I think it's a good idea. As Richard rightly said ones chances of survival are far far better if hit at 20 as opposed to 30mph. That said some pedestrians act like stupid cattle and seem to think that they can step onto the highway without looking and the onus is on the driver to somehow miraculously avoid them. It's this blame culture: If something bad happens to me it must be somebody elses fault. It's a dangerous world out there and the government tries hard to protect the unwashed proletariat to the best of it's nannying ability but surely keeping yourself safe when crossing the road must be a task that even the most feeble minded can realistically be expected to achieve? We're all responsible for our actions but I feel that it's getting to the stage where too many facets of the law are being changed to facilitate the small minority to the detriment of the vast majority. Richard? Over to you! |
