| Cars do drive too fast in built up areas; a patch of open road stimulates a 'foot down, let's see how fast I can go before I have to slow down again' response and an accelerating car is a very dangerous beast. Road humps are a waste of time as so many of the cars seen in Putney are 4x4s (often driven by multitasking women, if you know what I mean). Most of these drivers are 'too busy' to walk or cycle. No idea of any other solution than a blanket (policed) 20mph speed limit. |
