Dave as I posted before the tone of Paul's post was to my mind a demand. He may not have intended it to sound like it, but that's how it came across to me and so I made a point on the thread about it. It isn't up to me to come up with something constructive as a solution to the problem Aliki has raised - just as you are supporting Paul's viewpoint I am merely supporting hers. The 'constructive' solution, according to some of those (males) responding to her initial query, is just to move away. Sorry to repeat myself but moving away isn't an option for everyone who would like to escape the aircraft noise: some us put up with it cos we simply can't afford to move elsewhere for one reason or another. Hi Simon (knew you would be drawn in eventually!) thanks for your suggestion but take it from me even ear plugs don't work if you are under the flight path and trying to hear someone on the other end of the phone :-) And that, you'll all be relieved to know, is the last word I have to say on the subject. |
