I don't think you can judge that the planes are getting louder after only a year here. I've been here for about 18yrs and I really can't say I've noticed any difference lately at all. Maybe I'm used to it but some days I don't even realise there are no planes until half way through the day. It's not something I'm sensitive to any more. I work at home in West Putney and if I was pushed I'd say have more of a problem with the helicopters (and that varies greatly week on week). In the summer with windows open all night it's sometimes a nuisance but I'm happy enough to put up with it. As has already been said, if the planes were not flying overhead property prices would be much higher in Putney. The only thing that might make the aircraft louder is if they are turning into the flightpath later for some reason (over East Putney) as when I lived in Stockwell the planes could be considerably louder as they powered up after a turn. |
