| Concorde was glorious and flew over at civilised times of day. When i moved to Putney in early 70s there was very little noise from the airport and no helicopters (which are very obtrusive). Now, as Guy says, we have planes stacked above us whose passengers are merely in transit, earning BAA money, not the country! There is an existing airport in Kent with I believe the longest runway in the UK, which could be expanded to releive both Gatwick and Heathrow... share the pain. |
