| My road which runs between Howards Lane and Hazelwell Rd is quite narrow, especially at the southern end. Cars come up Deaaltry Rd and use it as as cut through. I am always astonished at the speed these cars reach in such a short distance. Recently a neighbour in her 90s whose sight is fading due to glaucoma tripped when a car sped past at speed. She is very brave and used to go to the High St every day, but no longer. At various times in recent years councillors and neighbourhood police have stood at the Hazelwell end with speed guns but nothing is achieved. Drivers ignore the signs about speed. The neighbourhood in Vienna where my old penfriend lives has had 30K restrictions for years. There is no need to speed along residential roads in Putney 20mph is fast anough |
