I love the proposed look for the high street and would support it, but.... the proposal says "cyclists will negotiate traffic in the normal way", (are motorbikes are also considered cyclists in this statement?) I think the much narrower road would be problematic for cyclists and motorbikes despite the proposed 15mph limit. Is the proposed road width used elsewhere without problems for bikes? Also, would this proposal reduce or increase vehicle emissions? Perhaps the junction at Chelverton Rd could be changed to give priority to buses therefore reducing the time they spend waiting to turn and helping the traffic flow. Finally, I notice the vision for PHS has "A" boards, are we powerless, can we ban this menace? |
