| Thank you, Martine. Interestingly, on Breakfast News, some Red Wall voters were asked it they wished to see Starmer resign. Two said yes, two said no because of the chaos that would ensure and we have already had enough revolving doors with PMs in the past and the fifth one said he was not too sure he would vote Labour in the future - too early to tell (his words not mine) but he would prefer Starmer to stay for the time being. At that point I had to get ready to go out. The most important issues at the moment for me (I know, a Londoner...) are NOT joining the Iran war, do the utmost to facilitate business as oppose to hinder it with taxes, undo the red tape created by Johnson's agreement with the EU to facilitate trade with the EU (it is a big market!), go back to drilling the North Sea to be self-sufficient in oil and gas until the war in Iran is over, re-introduce and encourage apprenticeships for young people (and perhaps not so young). These are just a few ideas I am reeling out in a hurry as I need to finish some work. Speak later! |
