I think the North London mindset aka the Metropolitan Leftie Liberal Elite probably came from the very funny It’s Grim Up North London cartoon in Private Eye. We rarely visit North London but went to Homerton last week. Our second visit to Hackney in about 30 years. It took me a few days to get over it! lol. I know I was definitely out of step with my Putney neighbours when I voted to Leave the EU, and would do so again. I read somewhere yesterday, maybe Mail Online, that it would go down like cold sick with the Red Wall voters, if Starmer tries to rejoin the EU. He is totally out of touch with not just the north, but anywhere outside of inner London, as outer London isn’t that keen on Labour either. |
