| The graph, Richard, is interesting. It shows that the total number of drivers crossing the river in West London has declined. It could be that the closure of Hammersmith Bridge has encouraged former motorists to seek alternative modes of transport but I suspect that a more likely explanation is that more people are working from home since the pandemic. Nevertheless it stands to reason that even if the junction were redesigned, the congestion along Putney High Street would be reduced still further if Hammersmith Bridge were reopened. |
