Mr Hawkes 

If the Saudis et al want peace and stability in the region, without which their attempts to muscle in on world sporting events might be jeopardised, it would seem wise of them to assist with talks ... at least the Qataris and Egyptians are trying to broker a ceasefire,  which sueely has to be a first step? Iran is obviously a destabilising influence in the region - I wonder if the internal unrest there might inhibit their interference at some stage. To be honest, the way forward looks difficult; just throwing some ideas around.
