Brilliantly put. All of this rings true. If there is to be a miraculous salvation it might be something copied from the U.S.A. In commercial matters they are often about 5 years ahead of us, so have any middle-class suburban centres in America come up with solutions to the "demise of the High street"? Possibly not. PHS has a lot against it, a polluted, dismal little strip with a steady crawl of traffic. Surely Lacy Road has more chance of developing into a pleasant browsing area? |
