I am aware that there are a few other posts on this forum relating to the closure of shops on the high street, however, I was wondering whether anything is actually being done to attract (good) shops onto the High Street? There are at least 20 vacant shops and with a few pending closure. Ideally, the betting shops, vape shops and the out of place shops should go as in my humble opinion, they detract from the high street. There should be a real drive to bring in businesses - it would be good to see more retail (Zara, Uniqlo or similar - both mens and women's), more restaurants (possibly a 'high end' one as Enoteca shut) and more home furnishings (like Butlers that was in the Exchange before). I think it is such a pity to see a half empty high street when Putney is an otherwise popular area. |
