| Comparison of Richmond Park with the commons is not exactly apples with apples is it Jonathan? However, it will be interesting to see how the GLA approach the park's management compared to the RPA approach, once responsibility is transferred. Who knows; we may even get a gate into the park from the Alton estate that is close to a bus stop. I work voluntarily for a charity, as many of us do but that does not mean I should be absolved from accountability, just because I am unpaid. It is not a mitigating circumstance. As far as professional dog walkers are concerned, I do believe the commissioners instigated a new bylaw (last year?) to limit the number of dogs one handler is allowed to walk at any one time. Regarding the Putney Hospital debacle, I did not say that the conservators were solely responsible but I am sure that if everyone had their time again, it most definitely would be handled differently. In fact, I believe the PCT are the No.1 culprits for the missed opportunity but we can't vote those miscreants off their board; while costs continue to escalate for us all. If you read my post again, you will find the reference I made to "jobs for the boys" refers to the MOD representation on the board of commissioners which is surely an anachronism. What is so onerous about the work of a commissioner and what, in your opinion, have they done that is so "great"? |
