| I have made this comment previously on this website, most recently when the fair came to the common. Why does everybody assume that everything that happens is the responsibility of the council. Putney Lower Common is the responsibility of the Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservators and they are responsible for letting it out, dealing with caravan dwellers who park their caravans on the common, and other matters. What happens there is not within the remit of the council. I have in fact spoken to them and they are aware of the situation and will be dealing with it. As a previous contributor to the website stated in another thread, please solicit a response from John Horrocks who is always ready to comment on other matters, but rarely responds on those matters in which he is directly involved. The council and local councillors will promptly deal with the matters within their control. The conservators should be encouraged to deal with the matters within their control as soon as they are brought to their attention |
