| Roland, that's really not fair. I know two of the Conservators very well as they also sit on the Putney Society executive committee. They, like all the Conservators, are unpaid volunteers with a strong sense of civic duty. John Horrocks mentioned on this thread that members of the public always have the opportunity to meet the Conservators prior to their monthly Board Meetings and that the Conservators' Annual Open Meeting is on Monday 21 June at 8.0pm at The Cornerstone, the Roehampton Parish Hall. He and the other Conservators welcome feedback from levypayers as well as other users of the Commons. I think they do a great job and their informative website keeps us all up to date on issues and events, s does their newsletter. And I am assured they are taking the issue of the travellers camp very seriously indeed - see John's earlier posting. |
