Right wing anti-immigration think tank (based in Tufton Street, of course) produces anti-immigration report. Quelle surprise! As Jonathan says, we need to be very wary of figures like this from people who are definitely not unbiased. Not so surprising, though, is the dodgy working. The key point here is that there are no reliable statistics on which to base this stuff (https://goodlawproject.org/dodgy-statistics-and-fringe-beliefs-the-groups-behind-reforms-anti-migrant-agenda/): for example, using 2021 census data (since when there has been a surge in immigrant numbers) as the denominator when the numerator is based on 2024 figures is an immediate giveaway, as is the fact that the numerator was "foreign nationals," not recent immigrants or asylum seekers. Consequently, any figures like this need to be taken with a huge dose of salt. There are as yet no detailed examinations of the figures, but a similar claim on this issue in Sweden was demolished: see "No evidence migration caused exaggerated 2013 Swedish rape statistics" (https://www.reuters.com/article/fact-check/no-evidence-migration-caused-exaggerated-2013-swedish-rape-statistics-idUSL1N37S2AU/#).
