Mr Hawkes, going back to your first post I thought your reference to "Islamic illegal immigrants" was a euphemism for asylum seekers who would seem to qualify as fulfilling that description, but perhaps I was wrong? Rereading your comment, I can see what you were really saying was that the followers of Tommy Robinson or Islamic illegal immigrants could be equally guilty of committing the crime as reported, which seems a fair, accurate and balanced comment. (Perhaps the young man convicted of raping a Sikh woman because he erroneously thought she was a Muslim was influenced by Tommy's or others' careless rhetoric, although I'm sure Tommy wouldn't support such crimes and will condemn it https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cpqxrzr29pxo.) I hope the mob who protested were equally balanced in their view. One has to have sympathy for the police having to deal with these irresponsible protesters when they could be dealing with more serious crimes. Of course we now know no such crime was committed, which I'm sure we'd all agree is good news, apart from any idiots who got themselves arrested while protesting and may now gain criminal records. As I think you've said about other protesters, it won't be good for their job prospects ... |
