In addition to the request to the Ministry of Justice, t Centre for Migration Control also put in a request to the Metropolitan Police last year under FOI about sexual assaults in London. The headline of the CMC's report is that in 2024 between 41% and 47% of those charged with sexual offences were foreign nationals even though this group account for about a quarter of the capital's population.

In 2024 there were 1601 arrests which led to further proceedings. Of these 855 were British, 597 were foreign nationals and 149 were of unknown nationality. If the unknowns are excluded the percentage of foreign national arrested is 41% but if they are deemed to be foreigners the percentage rises to 47%.

Between 2018 and 2024 the charge rate for British nationals for these offences per 10 000 of the populations was 6.4.The  corresponding figures for the top ten offenders by nationality was:

Afghanistan74.17
Eritrea 65.71Algeria 56.36
Somalia 54.62
Sudan 42.86
Albania 35.83
Iraq 30.00
Iran 26.32
Egypt 25.56
Morocco 25.56

The USA comes in at 5,54, for example, Australia at 1.48 and  at the bottom of the table Japan at 0.54.

Now statistics of this kind can always be questioned, of course, but here the sheer weight of numbers leaves no doubt that foreign nationals and particularly those from Muslim countries are disproportionately involved in sexual assault in London.

I am sure that if the figures had shown that foreigners were better behaved than British nationals, no one would have objected. But since the figures suggest that the opposite is true, the bien pensant cohort immediately raise questions about their reliability. The response of the 'Guardian' is a good example. The 'Guardian' attempted to debunk the figures, calling them 'muddled', noting that that they only show arrests, not convictions.  This of course is a true but fundamentally trivial observation since there is an obvious correlation between the number of arrests and the number of convictions.

My question is, why are those on the left so reluctant to accept evidence which contradicts their ideological standpoint?
