Lucille, this event is completely incomparable to the Tour de France. That race is composed of a small group of riders who flash through the countryside and hold up traffic for a short period. This race today consisted of 20,000 riders who took most of the day to complete. Is it not possible to think positively about the money raised for good causes as well as the general good feeling we get from an unusual event in London? One day a year is hardly a serious burden we can't collectively suffer, especially given the huge amount of notice we all had. Made a nice change from a usual boring Sunday (basically like any other day) in Putney. Why does this site have to be such an extraordinary source of negativity and miserableness? |
