The race was for charity - I did sponsor someone - and people in PHS seemed in good humour. There did seem to be good notice of the event so in most cases I'd have thought a bit of planning would have been possible to get around the closures - although I do have sympathy for Pam as I know from personal experience most cats wouldn't understand why the staff might be late with their meals, but that is an activity that's difficult to re-plan as this is around peak holiday time when I guess cat sitters are at their busiest. Like Dave I'm not anti car but prefer to use trains these days with the odd Zipcar when trains aren't convenient but will be on an off road track later this month - which is real driving! Wonder how Monaco, Singapore and other cities with F1 street circuits survive when they have to reconfigure the roads before Friday and can't really start putting them back to normal until Sunday evening at the earliest ... |
