I am not sure why a FoI request is needed as the General Purposes Committee reports these each year - the last time was in June 2008 for 2007/8 - see http://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/moderngov/Published/C00000302/M00002867/AI00009616/$08592Appendix2REVISED20072008OutturnReport3.xls.htm. I presume the 2008/9 figures will be available at next month's meeting. For interest, we agreed some years ago that we would not charge expenses for travel within Wandsworth. My own claims for 'travel' are a bit misleading - they include travel outside Wandsworth to fulfil my roles on the national pay negotiating bodies for local government staff, fire authority staff and schoolteachers plus my membership of the Local Government Pensions Committee, and a few other out-of-Borough meetings and conferences with respect to the Wandle Valley Regional Park, libraries, museums, climate change etc., but the main item involves claims for Broadband connection (£210.58 that year), as I was one of the few councillors who had their own server rather than being part of the Council's contract. (We receive computers and Broadband access at home as it is essential for our work as councillors, but reimburse the council a certain proportion to represent our own private and business use.) |
