Shame on him - disgraceful politicking of the worst kind. By definition (given they have a majority) his party faithful will be claiming the majority of this particular allowance and in addition from what I've read it is ministers (rather than simply mps) of a government of his party who have perpatrated the worst abuses of the parliamentary expense system (presided over by his party's sorry excuse for a speaker) and who may well in future be found guilty of tax evasion and fraud if the guts are found to prosecute them. I frankly don't believe he is entirely funded by local residents but would be happy to be proved wrong, but regardless of that he would be better advised to remove this from his website and at least concentrate on issues where he and his party have something positive to do (as opposed to announce) to correct the economic disaster they have presided over, at least for the year (at most) before they are finally removed from government. |
