| Adrian - yes - the logic completely escapes me. The Dover House Road - No Entry sign is half way down the road just pass a mini roundabout - let's say 0.5 mile from each end. Some drivers do not see the sign because their eyes are distracted looking to give way at the mini roundabout and the road past the No Entry signs looks the same i.e. no give way lines etc. Other drivers see it after they have negotiated the mini roundabout - if they can reverse they tend to go right (only a few left) which is the new backstreet route. Others of course see but ignore the sign. But I have yet to see someone turnaround and go back the way they came. But even if they did - they would still have motored the equivalent the entire length of the road! Are they going to drive the same speed back up as they came down having just lost time and patience?? The restriction should be placed at the start of the road or on Roehampton Lane! Complete madness resulting in confused motorists doing dangerous maneuvers. From a cycling perspective Dover House Road may be slightly more dangerous but the side roads are definitely more dangerous so it's a lose-lose. |
