| Thank you for the explanation John. In fact, a formal, true and official rat-run has been created through The Pleasance and Pleasance Road for DHR residents to avoid a straight run on DHR. That is interesting. We shall have to wait and see how that works out and how the residents in The Pleasance and Pleasance Road react to this, particularly as they are true residential roads while DHR is not as it is a bus route. Your comparison with Erpingham Road did not work, not because we cannot understand what the Council successfully achieved in Erpingham Road but the idiotic idea from the government to create private roads. Talking of which, if this becomes a permanent arrangement, it would only be fair to the residents on public roads throughout the borough to have discounted taxes not only because we cannot use the private roads but above all, that any maintenance and repairs to DHR and surrounding roads should be paid solely by the residents of those private roads. |
