| The low traffic neighbourhood scheme already implemented off Wandsworth Bridge Road in Fulham is already causing chaos. Here Fulham Council is using ANPR which is meant to allow local residents (those who have resident parking permits) to use the side streets as usual, with the cameras picking up those who are flouting the rules who will automatically get a fine. The problem is for residents that there is such a backlog of queueing traffic along New Kings Road, Wandsworth Bridge Road and Harwood Road, that they too are caught up in the traffic before they are able to use the 'cut through' roads, or indeed get to where they live. I don't know what the solution is, but each council seems to be applying their own ideas and there is not a coherent plan at all. |
