| I've just had a flier through the door with details. It is a trial and will start on the 31st August. No through access on Dover house road at Parkstead road junction except buses and cycles. Huntingfield road closed at the Parkstead Road junction (except bikes) Putney park Lane closed north of Parkstead Road Junction. Genoa Avenue closed except buses and cycles. So seems to be aiming to prevent rat running though Dover House Road and Genoa Avenue. However that traffic will probably just displace to Pleasance Road and Solna Avenue - both narrow streets which are left as through roads. So good intentions, but I don't think in practice will be as good as intended. Genoa avenue in particular is wide and has few houses directly on it - so moving that traffic to the narrow Solna and Westleigh Avenue seems crazy to me. Similar on the Dover House scheme - rat runners all squeezing down Parkstead, Pleasance and Hawksbury will be very unpleasant for residents there. Seems half hearted to not do a full closure. |
