Oddly enough failure in business is not considered as a write off in the USA to trying again. In the UK it seems that views are quite selective depending if the person meets the state's requirements. Even businesses that close owing small creditors the criticism seems to be selective. If you believe in enterprise, investment and success you have to accept the down side and assuming there have been nothing untoward in the failure then lessons learnt are invaluable for the next attempt at creating a new business. Of course if you believe that people shouldn't take risks then you may have a different opinion. That said risks and rewards are not limited to private businesses. Public sector failing can be down to managers just following what the previous manager's policy. Look no further than the Mayors of London where they have just following Ken's now outdated policy on transport.
