It is interesting that many in the UK & Europe think that the US can continue as it has done since the second World War.

As if the rest of the world has just stayed still.

The world has moved on and the US is under threat not just in trade terms or military but in every aspect from technology to manufacturing to Space.

It has a huge debt, with the UK being the biggest holder of it, followed by Japan. (I believe China has been reducing it's percentage of US debt so probably third).

The option to carry on and pretend nothing has changed simple doesn't exist.

The question is is it the right change? Only time will tell.

Personally I think such policies may have worked if Trump had won a second. However even in China a lot of jobs have been automated. The use of technology is still fairly alien to UK & US households in high crime societies.
