Caroline, the suggestion by some residents that a retirement village with a mix of residential homes of various sizes coupled with cafe and medical station seems quite a good one to me. Like other residents in the area the older generation would have to put up with a certain amount of pollution from the LRR. But the amount of extra traffic, particularly at rush hours, would be minimal, and the island site would not be overdeveloped. And no risk to 420 young children travelling to and from school every day along the busy road and most of them having to cross the roads not once but twice. A proper Environmental Impact Assessment needs to be done so we can properly assess the risks. Nick |
