I am sure nobody would be surprised to learn that I have followed Nigel Farage’s political career for a long time and have been a subscribed member of UKIP, the Brexit Party and since 2024, Reform UK.

I have also been heavily invested with his FB account and it’s a place to discuss not just his policies but also his life outside of politics.   Including his personal life.

In November 2025 Farage bought a large house in his Clacton constituency and the Left-wing print media went into frenzy-mode.   He was accused of only buying it because he was facing extreme criticism for not living in the constituency that he represents, or just to add it to his considerable property portfolio, or it was some kind of tax dodge à la Rayner.   This last speculation was further fuelled because the property was solely registered to his longtime partner, Laure Ferrari, who he first met in 2007. 

However FB gossip was more down-to-earth  and pragmatic.   The speculation was that LF wanted marriage but NF did not want to get married again.   However to prove his commitment to their relationship Farage bought the house for her using his own money.   Perhaps the funds were part of the £5M gift he received from Christopher Harborne, who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️  Killing two birds with one stone?   Finally it is Farage’s own money given as a personal gift so he can spend it however he wants to.
