Now we all know from his comments on Israeli politicians that Mr Ainsworth is always fair minded and willing to give people the benefit of the doubt regarding their actions.

But I don't think these frauds were irrational at all.

They are examples of what people having power in pretty much a one Party state do.

They abuse it for their own advantage.

In his case, who is going to stop him ?

His wife ?

Certainly not the Party and Government officials beholden to both her and him.

I can imagine my grandmother, who was a true working class struggler, saying, almost Pythonesque-like, - "He's not mental he's just a greedy bugger"
