| Mr Ixer All very well continuing to rant and rail against the energy policy of Mrs Thatcher who I believe ceased to be PM in 1990. However it is a fact that the UK has vast reserves of off-shore natural gas and oil as well as that susceptible to inland fracking. We could begin to free ourselves from the effect of Middle East politics on our energy policy if 'lil Ed Miliband and the Labour government allowed these unique resources to be exploited and put to good use. We would then be able to reduce our home and industrial energy costs as well as provide well paid jobs in Scotland and NE England where they are needed. Instead UK citizens suffer from a misguided and politically naïve policy regarding 'global warming' whilst China builds hundreds of coal fired power stations to produce exports to the UK - including solar panels that Miliband wants us all to rely on ! |
