Steven, as I've explained before I've no time for religious extreme governments such as Iran's rulers and don't want them or any other non nuclear state to obtain atomic weapons. Although, to be fair, the Iranians, assuming they have the amounts of enriched uranium claimed, they have refrained from using it to make 'dirty' bombs for their drones; that would really mess up the middle east as even downed drones would mess up the environment and potentially make it uninhabitable. The trouble is that Trump’s blitzkreig seems to be hurting many Iranians that protested against their authoritarian regime. (I'm expect the schoolgirls killed in the double tap attack that also hurt their rescuers - suspected to be based on out of date intelligence - may not have wanted to be forced to wear hijabs.) And his false statements mean one mistrusts everything he says. The worrying thing is, I have a feeling he doesn't really know what he's saying but actually believes it himself - this latest one about dead people walking without legs seems confirm that! A bit surreal! Perhaps why discussions fail and needed a sensible strategy from the US? Still, we'll all just have to such up the increased energy costs because we didn't develop renewable fast enough; another Thatcher mistake based on Lawson's scientific ignorance. |
