| Mr Ainsworth 'Therefore, while Iran is legally bound to much higher transparency than Israel, its actual cooperation has been characterized by intense, ongoing, and often obstructed inspection efforts, whereas Israel operates with almost complete lack of international oversight' Everyone knows that Israel has nuclear weapons and most understand why. Can you give any reason why Israel should want to use a nuclear weapon as a first strike on another neighbouring state ? Why would it be in its interest to do so and would it not also suffer the effects of collateral fall-out ? Is not its possession of such a weapon a prevention against an attack with any similar weapon from the surrounding states that have avowed to annihilate it ? Iran prevaricates over international inspections because it wants to develop nuclear weapons which would then be in the hands of religious zealots who would not hesitate to use them. Everyone except you knows that too. This is not cricket its realpolitik. And one takes sides. You the Islamic backward dictatorship that is the state of Iran and me democratic thriving 'western' democracy that is Israel. |
