It’s odd to to suggest that this petition will get the property listed as ACV’s are not based on simple petitions. There needs to be a formal application to WBC from a community group. Greening cannot simply say to WBC here is a petition, now list it. Where is the community group who will be the purchaser? Is Greening planning to front it? Of course not. So who is? Greening says “This will mean that the freeholder will have to offer the pub for sale to the community first, before putting it on the open market...” That is nonsense, and seems to indicate that Greening has no idea as to how ACV legislation actually work. The freeholder does NOT have to offer the pub for sale to the community, nor does the community have ANY right to buy it. |
