| I suppose the problem I have with guys like JD Vance, Hegseth, Trump and, to a lesser extent, Rubio, is that I don't even believe that they believe the nonsense they come out with; it all seems like performative stuff for the gallery. Hegseth's claim to be a religious fundamentalist is about as credible as any of the TV Preacher's who are found in motel rooms shagging their assistants and claiming their private jets are necessary tools to spread the Lord's message! By the way, his broker tried to make an enormous investment in defence funds just prior to the Iran attack! That's the real Hegseth, the rest is just nonsense for his base. Someone said once 'follow the money'; I think it as simple as that with these guys. They're not particularly complex individuals, just utter dicks out to enrich themselves. |
