As far I see it, the Government had a chance to leave behind something good with the changes to Leasehold.  Also they could have changed VAT so that it benefits the refurbishment of old buildings, which would have helped save some of our heritage that is so easy to demolish at the moment.

Ground rent is money for nothing.  People have bought leasehold flats with so many outgoings to the Freeholder, it is like they are paying a rent on top of their mortgage.

Yes, they’ve given up Lucille, I agree.  What I read ages ago was that they know the country is in such a bad state, they don’t want to win the next election
