Yesterday we had the BBC local news on in the background at home.  A woman who lived in an apartment block, aka block of flats, in Canary Wharf said her service charges had gone up to £33,000 per year.  I asked my husband if I had heard that right, £33,000 per year, because I was only half listening.  It was correct.

I hope that Michael Gove really does do something about these extortionate bills that are ruining the lives of people trying to put a roof over their heads.  It isn’t just enormous services charges, it is the land rent scam which sees the amount doubled fairly frequently.  I feel so sorry for people caught up in these situations.
