You have the wrong end of the stick, Sue. Nick is not subject to a gagging order as he is no longer a Conservator, although he isn't able to release documents belonging to WPCC because they're no longer his. Nick has helpfully answered a number of questions without any "goading" and I am grateful to him for the light he has been able to shed. David, John is subject to the "gagging order" the full text of which I have read, and from which you quote via Nick's posting. He appears willing nonetheless to publish confidential information and communication from WPCC on this forum and it was this recent action that provoked my further enquiry. I was asking him therefore to extend this breach to the letter he keeps referring to. It seems odd that his breach of confidentiality should include a couple of other items but not the one he said should be published. No-one can force him to do this and it seems very unlikely that John is stupid enough to be "goaded" into doing anything he doesn't want to do; there is nothing underhand about my request. Moreover, if he was going to be fired for breaching confidentiality, there are enough grounds for it already; like President Johnson, WPCC appear to prefer to have him inside their tent for the time being. At the very least, if he were to properly identify the document to which he keeps referring, the rest of us would be better placed to try to get hold of it. I myself have no intention of asking WPCC for it on the basis of the current description. I've asked John for the information (date, signatory, addressees) which would enable it to be identified. I don't believe that supplying this would be a breach of the confidentiality agreement. If John is unable to supply this information then reasonably he might at least explain for himself at some point why he won't.
