It seems that Prue Whyte, Keith Luck (elected Conservators) and Ian Andrews, Ros Taylor and Derek Frampton (appointed Conservators) don't like the retrospective QSR from Montagu Evans LLP, commissioned by a majority of the Audit and Risk Committee - John Cameron, Nick Evans and Shirley Gillbe (elected Conservators). You will remember that this is the only QSR/Valuation ever received by the charity for the Putney Hospital access. I should point out that the three appointed Conservators may be liable if a loss is shown to have been incurred.

The Charity Commission has told the charity to establish if a loss was incurred when the access was sold to WBC for £350,000 in stark contrast to the £1.9m ME LLP say it was worth in February 2012.

The retrospective ME QSR cost £25,000.

Commonsense would seem to suggest that if the five Conservators who don't accept the findings of the independent QSR and the way it was commissioned, they would ask the Chartered Surveyor (one of the most prestigious firms in London) to consider their concerns. Take them into account. This would obviously cost a bit extra, but nowhere near as much as a second QSR would cost.

So why aren't they behaving sensibly in the interests of all levy-payers? Why indeed.

Perhaps we will get an explanation at the "Open Meeting" on Wednesday evening.
